The Mounties seem to like the drama as they did it again, they came back from a 3-1 deficit to win another do-or-die playoff game albeit in a different way than last weekend’s performance which included four overtime periods followed by a shootout win.

The Canton, NY Golden Bears scored first but Suffern quickly evened to score on a goal from Foresta.

The Golden Bears scored another to go ahead 2-1 at the end of the first period. The start of the second period saw the Golden Bears put a third puck in the net and things were looking less than optimistic for the Mounties.

Perhaps the Mounties are so confident that they can spot their opposition a 3-1 lead because without skipping a beat, the Mounties proceeded to maul the Golden Bears.

Tommy McCarren found the back of the net.

Then McCarren did it again.

McCarren’s goals were followed by goals from Kyle Foresta, Foresta again, Ryan Shelling, Shelling again to put the Mounties up 7-3 by the end of the second period.  The third period started with Suffern passing the puck to kill the clock before Gunnar Marks sealed the 8-3 win with 11:23 left to go in the third period.

Goaltender Mikey Halper was an absolute standout as usual.

Suffern area residents took to social media to share the win and congratulate the boys for their epic win.

The first ranked Suffern Mounties take on the Corcoran Cougars (Syracuse) who defeated the Orchard Park Quakers 5-1 yesterday.

The puck drops at the Harborcenter in Buffalo at 3pm.

The game can be live-streamed for $9.95 here:  nfhsnetwork.com.
